Somehow, my rear right tire developed a problem, and it now sits in my garage, flat as a pancake! With most tires, one simply patches the tire, but I doubt that is the correct course of action here. I have an 08 F430 in pristine condition with just under 8000 miles. I doubt I will ever get to a track, so tires that might work for a track are not an issue. Of course, this is work that needs to be professionally done. So my questions are these:
    1. What tires do you recommend to replace the rear tires, and from where do you suggest I order them?
    2. Would you have a Ferrari dealer handle this repair (Ferrari of Washington is over 90 minutes away, and I would have to spend several hundred dollars just to get the car there with the flat tire), or can a local tire company handle this?
    3. What other suggestions do you have to help insure that this entire process goes as smoothly as possible?
Many thanks for your help and suggestions!

Thanks for the response. I know I would have remembered hitting something that would have bent the rim. I understand that the car is low profile, and that bending a rim is much easier than in most other cars, but there has been absolutely nothing that would lead me to believe that this was the case. FOW has advised Pirelli P Zeros, and has said a local Porsche dealer ought to have the equipment to change the tires. Porsche of Towson is only 5 miles away.

    2. Just ask and confirm that the shop you have them installed at have the correct equipment to perform the job. Very simple, just ask.If they do, let them do it, inspect wheels before and after installation.
    3. Even though you do not track the car, I would not suggest mixing front and rear tire types. Yes, you can , " Black, round, and rubber " only go so far. The one time you NEED the car to respond the way it's designed to, if you mix tires, the back end may come around sooner than expected because you mixed a harder compound new tire with a sticker compound front tire , and around you go. Have you checked the tire build dates? It may be time to replace them all anyways.

So, I suggest you replace the set or at minimum replace the rears with matching tires to your fronts now.
