Red alarm indicator light staying on constantly so I read where it was probably the battery in the siren. Tried opening it up but no luck. Bit the bullet and bought a new siren. Everything is working but no chirping when I activate or deactivate the alarm. Any thoughts?

Maybe turn off main battery switch for a short time and turn it back on follow the relearn procedure for ecu. Basically, start it with everything off and let it idle for 10 minute, IIRC.

That should not matter. At least it did not matter to mine.

Did the old one ever chirp, we are all assuming you bought a new ferrari one?
If thats the case send it back. Maybe it was old stock!
Bought mine from ricambi and it worked perfect out of the box. Old one had you symptoms, i repaired old batter and old one works as well so removed battery for now.

Yes, definitely old stock, just checked date on box, expired 10/19/2012. So these sirens only last 5 or so years. Oh well, I guess Ferrari wants to keep the economy churning. I'll have to purchase one from another source and have them verify the expiration date.

I’m going order another siren and some other parts from Scuderia. They’re prices are good just waiting on a shipping quote. Have you ordered from them before?

seems like the newer type of siren doesnt last as long as the older type (part no. 180996). Even worse, its not really serviceable. Mine lasted over 20 years before needing the battery changed.

I got in touch with a salvage yard and told them to find one and take it apart for me. If they get it apart and it’s ok inside I’ll buy it and replace the battery. Hopefully they’ll come through.

I can get a full refund and the will pay me for shipping it back. I ordered another one and waiting on it to arrive from another supplier. First supplier doesnt have any more.

Oh. I am pretty sure this will solve your problem. You could also do what I did and take apart your old one and replace battery as a spare.

The GM siren upgrade works perfectly in my f355. I installed it myself in 2015. No more red blinking light and chirps as per the original.

I tried. There was no silicone in the screw holes and they were rusted.
