I have a 2005 360 Modena Spider with an F1 transmission. Saturday it blew a hose, leaked fluid and wouldn't move.

Took it to the dealer, who has been really good to me, and they say the only way to get a replacement hydraulic hose is to buy the whole kit from Ferrari for $6,600.

Does anyone have a less expensive replacement F1 hydraulic hose source? If I have to buy them from the dealer I will, but honestly, I am doing the clutch and some other stuff, and would really like to be able to keep the cost down if I can.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Any good shop can make a exact hydraulic hose. The problem for you is bleeding the system. You will need an sd3/2 and if you need to bleed the actuator using the three or four screws it will be a lot more complicate. At east you will safe a ton of cash making the hose. I saw some kits at eBay for 2.5k.

Tech suggested replacing them all while I am at it, which would be okay if they weren't so expensive. I want the dealer to install the hose(s), I don't have the time to try it on my own (or the dealer tools, for that matter).
Just found someone to sell me the one hose I need, and overnight it. :)

Try GTE engineering. The same company that makes the ST5 tester. It was recently reported that GTE rebuilds ferrari F1 assemblies at a reasonable price, thus they may sell or offer a reference to a hose source.

When you identify one, please post the solution.

    (818) 885-1414. They just did a hose for my 430. Just bring them the old hose. It takes about a day

    Thanks for the suggestions, everyone.

I ended up getting just one line (from pump to power block) from Ryan Jones
    Exotic Auto Recycling www.exoticautorecycling.com 916-638-8000

He also gave me a killer deal on some low mile brake rotors, and some other stuff I needed. Was super helpful and flexible on price as I added more stuff to my list. Even send it FedEx Overnight to the dealer for me.

I may eventually replace the whole set with new ones, in which case I'll contact one of the guys above. I just couldn't justify paying $6,000 plus for a set of lines from Ferrari.

PS - I paid to subscribe, best money I have ever spent. This site has saved me THOUSANDS in repairs/parts. Thank you all!

We have the ability to make custom lines from -2 to -10 in basic pressure line or our Teflon braided stainless lines. All lines are tested to 4500psi once assembled. If you send us your lines we can create a stronger new copy.

With the stress the lines are under they do seam to fail prematurely. Either by an install that has moved a line so that it interferes with another or the line when it was manufactured was not indexed properly causing an internal stress resulting in failure.

We are presently looking for a set that has been removed, failed or otherwise to create a replacement set and offer it at a greatly reduced price compared to the factory and more than likely they will carry the same lifetime warranty that our brake lines do.

If you have a set or a single line that needs repair, please let us know. If you have a full set that is extra or a failed set available..Please contact us !!

    Regards,

    David & Glenn

Eric Sanders, as always, came through for me. He let me bring in used parts, and did the clutch, the bad hydraulic line, all four rotors (used) and pads (new), a new Ferrari race exhaust with variable baffles, new battery, put on my new HRE wheels (power coated black) and so many other things on the car.

For anyone who doesn't know him, he is simply amazing with Ferrari's.

I've put thousands of miles on it since my service visit, using it as a daily driver, commuter car, grocery getter, etc. It's been trouble free, runs great, everything works.

I am hoping the bad experience with my TR was just the result of Dustin Gelbard's incompetence over at Revolution Motor Sports in Agoura Hills where after a month my car was still sitting, dead. Once Eric got hold of it, the results of Dustin's incompetence got sorted out quickly.

My 2005 Spyder has been GREAT so far!
