Would like to replace many of the hoses on my 79 308. Would like to find the braded style if possible. Any one know a good supplier where I could get the correct hoses? Thanks

I just got done replacing all my hoses,

I would go BMW fuel injected (nonbraided), due to the crap they're putting in our gasoline, the fuel line will hold up very well. Also, you have to be extremely careful as to replace the fuel line with a sturdy stock. These cars are notorious for catching on fire due to hoses rupturing. Actually, I did find the smog braided hosing at T. Rutlands, they're a pretty good group of guys, very helpfull. I also found a similar stock of heater hosing at a local restoration Ferrari shop. Haven't actually seen it, but am told it's a "dead ringer" for O.E. I'll let you know. All the hosing I replaces looks exactly as O.E., I'm kind of 'anal' that way. Good luck, any more "Q's" let me know!

    Chris.

    Hi,

The evap. emission braided hose (smog hose) that came originally on 308s was 7mmID 14mmOD (really beefy stuff) - this OD size can not be found in bradided hose anymore (if you can find it, let me know!).

Standard size hose that is available is 7mmID 12mmOD. You can find this braided hose (get the fuel injected version, as stated above) from any place that carries VW parts or German car parts and it will be much cheaper than an F-car parts store - and of the same quality (usually German made). Wurth makes a braided hose very similar to the stock 308 look. Ferrari UK had some NOS of the 7mmID 14mmOD a couple of years ago, but I was replacing hoses because I wanted new stuff, so this defeated the purpose! : )

Also, remember the fuel lines are 8mmID.......
