Replacement key question: late 90s/early 2000 era

    I recently acquired a 2004 575 that only came with two black keys.

    However one of the black keys had a little metal tag with a letter followed by four digits engraved on it.

    Does that metal tag have the ignition key code listed or is it something else?

    Affirmative, that is the key code for the keys you received. Incidentally, when new, 575Ms came with only two keys and three fobs, one red and two black. So you have a full set if you have the three fobs. The keys with the small Cavallino were unavailable for quite a while, but I believe they are producing them again.

    Thank you Taz! Seriously, your a massive resource for all fcars (and 550/575s in particular!)

    I have two of the classic guitar black keys but only two black fobs...no red fob.

    I assume I could have the red fob made since I have the key code?

    The key code has nothing to do with the fobs, but you can now get a matching red fob if you have your 575M's alarm code found with the owners manual documents or by having someone pull it from the Alarm/Immobilizer ECU. Contact gobble (Mark) here on the site.
