Hi guys, My water hose (the L shape one just behind the firewall) burst again after replaced with OEM part about 6 months ago. ( I was pulling 1,2,3rd gear on Sat before it poofed with steam). I wonder if there is any other type of hose/pipe I can use instead of OEM that may last longer. Please advise of where/how to get them Thanks
Get some silicon replacements, but also keep in mind the major causes of burst coolant hoses: Nicks, cuts, and abrasion Improper clamping Internal/external oil contamination Low coolant and overheated engine Water pump failure and overheated engine Thermostat failure and overheated engine Electrochemical degradation resulting in a blown hose or pinhole leaks Excessive engine vibration Stop and go driving Ozone damage
thanks for prompt replies, guys. it doesnt look like anything else apart from dis-integrate of the OEM part itself.. (small cut about 1-1.5 cm like a knife-cut in the middle of L hose at the 90 degree inside point). It wasnt a big blow of steam just small little leak but enough to see steam fogging up my rear screen. Thanks again. P.
