    These "BMW" TRX are just as expensive as the taller ones. Actually they are marginally cheaper : 360€ vs 380€ here in France.

    This size was the standard size for the early 400i and 400carb. It is significantly smaller than the trx rim (approx 16.3").

    Early 400 fitted 215/70VR15 XWX with a diameter of 683mm

    then they moved onto 240/55R415 Michelin TRX they had a diameter of 679mm (let us not fuss about a meer 4mm)

    the 6 series Bimmer tyre is a 240/45R415 TRX 640mm

    That 45 or 55 bit is important. that shows what percentage of the width of the tyre the heighth of the side wall is.
