Just wanted to post this info in case someone else needs to do this job. While working on some other stuff, I noticed the heater air ducts on my car were in rough shape. In fact, the duct that ran from the fan motors (in front of the driver's side front wheel well) across to the passenger side heater core (aft of the spare tire tub on passenger side of car) was torn and falling apart, and had the remnants of decades-old mouse nests.

I ordered new "Vena MT" ducting from Aircraft Spruce:

    https://www.aircraftspruce.com/pages/ep/ducting/cat.php

This is quite a bit more rugged than the original ducting Ferrari used, but still flexible enough to make the bends needed to route in the car. The original ducting was 80mm I.D. (about 3.15"). The closest I could find was 3.25" I.D. Amazon sells similar ducting but their closest sizes are 3" or 3.5" O.D., so too small or too big.

Aircraft Spruce sells the duct in various lengths -- the 8' length is just enough to do both of the front hoses that run from the fans to the heater cores. The driver's side hose was about 29" and the passenger side hose was about 56", but I suggest not pre-cutting, as there are a lot of nuances to the routing and fit, and it makes more sense to cut to fit directly on the car after routing.

Routing the passenger side duct by myself was tough and I ended up having to lube a couple areas between the frame and spare tire tub with silicone grease to help slide the hose through. It would be easier with a helper, as one person could push from under the car while the other pulls from above.

I used hose clamps on all the ends, not so much to retain the hose, but more to keep the spiral steel wire on the ducting from unwinding over time. All the old hoses on my 328, including the downstream hoses that I left alone, had the spiral wire unraveling from the ends and sticking out, waiting to damage something or hurt someone. At a minimum, zip ties should be used to secure the spiral wire on the hose ends if clamps are not used.

I'll paste a couple pics below.
