Replacing 355/Other Injector Elctrical-Connectors?

    Anyone done this? Replaced the Injector electrical-connectors(Other connectors also) on the harness(due to cracking and likewise) on a 355/others? I looked them over yesterday and noticed that a few of them were cracked/not in good shape. I want to replace them now when my engine is out and the winter is giving me a lot of time.

    Where to get these? Can´t find this in the Parts Catalouge. Bosch-Catalouge?

    Shall the wires be be brazed to the new connectors?

    Just about all of the connector boots in the engine bay go bad quickly......again high heat and poor material from Ferrari.

    Even the metal connectors themselves are el cheapo..

    If I were you I would look at all of the connectors in the engine bay and replace with high quality boots and connectors.

    If you want the best materials that will definitely last along time get in touch with Dave Helms...he has a complete kit for re-doing the engine wiring harness.

    Thanks for the link, lots of stuff I can use for my Healey there (just ordered three__3__kits: bullet connectors, blanking plug & grommets).

    Johan: Thanks, yes, kind of, but ill try to get original connectors, or from a Bosch-dealer.

    As bcwawright says, the rubber sealings around the connectors seem to be cracked more or less everywhere...

    Yes, talk to Dave Helms, he will have a kit available very soon. When I had my major service done last year, Ferrari of Seattle replaced ALL the Amp connector boots in my engine compartment with new ones. I believe they sourced them from here: http://www.eagleday.com/ampconnectors.html

    You will notice the boots are solid, not the accordian style. They appear to be more durable than the oem ones. I believe Dave's kit will have the accordian style, but made from a similar, more durable material, so you get an oem look, AND better durability. The problem is that if your boots are already torn, then Dave recommends replacing all the connector pins too, as the connection point between the wire and pin is likely contaminated. He can provide new, gold plated connector pins. His thought is that the original pins are probably fine for the high voltage stuff like the injectors, but for the low voltage sensors...throttle position potentiometer, water temp sensor, air temp sensor, etc., it can be very critical to proper performance to have the abolutely best connection possible, and replacing and renewing these connector pins becomes vitally important if they are contaminated and corroded.
