Is there any reason to use a spring compressor to release pressure on the springs when removing the rear hub on a Testarossa.?

Haven't had the pleasure of doing this particular operation myself, but it hasn't been reported before as necessary. Typically, the Koni shock acts to limit the springs's extension so that the shock becomes the thing establishing the full-droop position -- although sometimes it can be a bit of a Chinese puzzle, where even with the shock/spring assembly unbolted and loose, other parts of the suspension must be unbolted to allow actual removal of the spring/shock (but with the outboard placement of the rear shocks on a TR, I doubt this is required).

    No.
As I remember, it was a bit of a tussle to remove the shocks when I R&Red the lower A frame, but I didn't use a spring compressor.
