My buddy spotted this yesterday and was quick enough to snap a camera phone pic as it drove by. Im no expert on these cars, but I looked at a few other pics and this one doesn't have wire wheels, and you can see the lugs. Dunno the other differences. He said the 3 openings in the front were open, not closed off. There was bird **** all over it it looked like. Anyway, enjoy

Most likely a replica based on a Datsun 280Z because the distance from the rear of the front wheel well and the front fender gill vent is not very far. Compare it to a photo of an original to see the difference.

I saw what looked like a 250 GTO on the ramp out in front of a West Colfax used car dealer a few years ago. Of course, it turned out it was a Datsun 240 or 280.

The body looked reasonably good, but the engine and interior were left stock.

Asking price? $40,000, more than I paid for my 308. WAY too much for an old Datsun, IMO.

Door shape is a dead give-away as well as the rear hatch...Datsun has a hatch-back instead of a fixed rear window with a trunk opening....

Actually they're usually based on a 240Z as Datsun just about copied the GTO in designing the 240Z. IIRC the 240Z has the exact same windshield angle and wheelbase as the GTO. The other dimensions aren't that far off either.
