I live in Canada and am a sales manager for one of the largest GM dealers here.......so yes it is true, as I walk past the car almost every day. CAD MSRP is $89K + taxes.......$59K + taxes buys it today......a brand new 2010 GS coupe, never registered.
Holy crap, look at those $125K asking prices... That's Audi R8 or Porsche 997 Turbo territory. Or an Aston V8 Vantage if you put style over performance.
Crap no, not around here. I was just back at the Chevy lot today and they wouldn't come at all off MSRP for the GSes they had. Maybe next week they'll notice they're almost out of year. They let me sit in a base convertible and sure enough, just like C&D is always complaining about, the seats were unsupportive and downright wiggly. I suppose and hope the rest of the car makes up for that.
stock seats sux. Caravaggio Corvettes has great seats. These are the ones I have in my Z06. They have 1 piece sells in plastic or cf and they have 2 piece more comfy but heavier seats. They can b upholstered in any color/fabric you like Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow, i didnt know car prices in CA were that much more than the US. Still, 1/3 off sticker is pretty good.
Will, i always liked your z06. Is it a dedicated Track car? BTW what do you think about the Z06 carbon edition? tks
Thanks, my Z is for road & track. I'd love to build a strictly race car w cf body & 800hp Someday... Carbon edition is very cool. I'd wait for it to depreciate before snapping one up though. I dont think GM is building very many so it could be a nice collectable but then you cant drive it or mod it which sux
Do not lose sight of the forrest because the trees are in the way. The ZR1 is an incredibile car especially considering the relatively modest price. Get one at the best price you can find but get one. I did and it is unbelievable. It will put a grin on your face from ear to ear. I also own a Lamborghini ( 2 ) Ferrari, Ford GT and can tell you that this is a car that is satisfying on so many levels . Great comfortable ride with the Magnetic Shocks but becomes track ready when you select the "Sport" position. Room in the trunk to actually take stuff with you like bags. Take advantage of the times and get a 2010 or a 2011. The 2009 did not have the launch control feature that the 2010 and 2011 has. Buy this car and don't worry about depreciation. Just drive it and enjoy one of the best rides ever to come from an American Manufacturer. THANK YOU GM!!
We went looking at Silverado's today for my nephew and once he told the guy helping us that I had owned a few sports cars in the past he immediately started talking about the ZR-1 and Z06. I told him I had no interest at all but he kept pushing the issue so we let him waste 25 minutes looking at the cars before we got back to trucks....Long and short I told him ZR-1 was out of question and a Z06 was a maybe at best, he came back at $9k back of msrp($85k). Is that a decent deal or was he still hosing me? He did admit that ZR-1 sales were slow and I could get a "better deal" on one but said the Z06 was the car most people preferred so the sales were still steady. Said the most he had taken off a car was $5k but since it was end of year I could get $9k...Was'nt interested at first but after thinking about it I might go back next week to look if he was being upfront with me.
Was it a '10 or '11? I have no real frame of reference, but my gut is that $9K on a '10 is a "good" deal but not great; I bet still a bit of room to negotiate. Offer them $70K and see what they say. FYI, there are $3K rebates on '10s, nothing on '11s.
2011 Corvette Z06 2 Door MSRP: $84,995.00 Your Price: $76,908.99 Your price is a "net" price. Does not include tax and DMV fees. Must qualify for available rebates This is a copy and paste from follow up email...
FWIW...three ebay samples from different dealers: stated MSRP is $95,915; BIN price is $86,998 stated MSRP is $86,555; BIN price is $76,468 stated MSRP is $79,915; BIN price is $70,460 Seems like the discount you're being offered is a bit less than above (% wise) but generally within the market. Maybe a few inconsequential (it's not my money ) bucks left to squeeze out of the dealer but probably not enough to call it a "bad" deal.
This was his first offer on the Z06, he did say on ZR1's they will probably do $20k off. I am going to go drive it at the beginning of next week and see if it fits me right.
There are a few advertised in the low- mid 90's already. How much will a new year affect prices on the used market?
Just saw 1 for $89k. I imagine a year from now early ZR1s w high miles will be in mid $60s Very attractive at that price
Don't forget about 0% financing on the 2010s....that's what sealed the deal for me on my 2010 Cyber Grey ZR1. Do it....you won't regret it.
