Ofcourse what Briatore was actually saying is that this is the FIRST GP in China and all they want to talk about is Ford leaving F1 ... instead they should be talking about CHINA, and welcoming the country to F1 and thanking them for all their efforts.

Gee how thick and negative are these reporting @rseholes!

For once I am on Briatore's side!

Pete I am here in Shanghai and the organizers have done a wonderful job. Your right about the Journalist A Holes. But what was funny was some of the Chinese Journalist asking Schumacher questions, like do you feel bad your old team Jaguar won't be around next year? Or why do you always were a Red Racing Suit, luck? Really funny.

I think reporters for the most part ask about and write about what they think their readers are interested in. For me at least, I would rather have comments on the current state of F1 than a bunch of feel good rah-rah junk about how great it is to be in China. Pete, do you think ol' Flav would have reacted the same way if all of the questions had been about the return of JV and how great that was?

Lets be specific here. It may be guaranteed that it is the British media keeping things stirred as the UK racing magazines and websites have reduced themeselves to the level of super market tabloids.

This would be the same British media which handed Allan McNish the victory at Le Mans this year, four days before the green flag fell. The ACO may as well have engraved the trophy to McNish and his team mates which included Le Mans rookie Pierre Kaffer.

According to the British media, the same that covers F-1, McNish could not have been denied since the Team Goh Audi R8 team of Tom Kristensen, Rinaldo Capello and Sieji Ara could not compete for the victory because of Ara's lackluster showings in previous four Le Mans appearances.

However, the British fairhaired boys, McNish and Johnny Herbert, had to win
despite the fact that this was Kaffer's first appearance at Le Mans. The beauty of it all was it was Ara who held off Herbert in the end to seal the victory for Team Goh much to the British media's bitter chagrin. Brilliant!

The point is, supporting a tabloid press leads to these types of stupid questions from a non-educated media. And, to be fair, these press conferences take place at each F-1 race and the participants are set in advance so if Jordan and Ford people are there, naturally the media are going to want a scoop from them directly.

And, for taboid fodder, why not ask Briatore if he is really the father of Heidi Klum's baby? That might provide some fireworks.
