...vaguely central to East Greenwich? My uncle (a longtime Porsche owner) is looking for a new shop to take his 996 Carrera Cabrio to--specifically for a battery replacement which Inskip quoted him $400 for. He's no stranger to high maintenance bills, but I guess this one rubbed him the wrong way. Recommendations for a solid Porsche specialist? thanks
I'll pop a battery out of a Civic in 10 minutes. An $80k Porsche gives me the willies. Is it fairly straightforward on a 996? No surprises after hooking everything back up? I'll suggest it. In the meantime, he'd still be looking for a shop for general maintenance on it...
Pop the hood and there it is under the plastic cover. Should be pretty straight forward. We've done it about 100 times for car shows. You have to remove the negative at indoor car shows.
does anybody know much about them? i know they've been around a long time, but i dont know their service reputation.

They do have a nice one year or 1200 mile warranty if the same part breaks again that they'll do the repair again for free.
So he ended up getting raped for $438 at Inskip before I could attempt it myself. Already had an issue w/ German Motors (car arrived there immaculate, picked up w/ a big ding in the hood, owner said it was like that, hubbub ensues, techs later admit it happened while there, they end up fixing it--probably not a good idea to return). So the search continues...
