First of all, apologies for the vagueness. My brother is currently looking for a quality NSX and looking on autotrader found NSX's for sale at the following dealerships:

    - Chicago Motor Cars
    - Chicago Cars Direct
    - Windy City Motorsports
    - Lucky Motors

Anyone know anything about them? I haven't heard of the them but figured if anyone knew that it was the guys on F-chat! Thanks in advance for the help.

I've heard good things about Chicago Motor Cars. To be honest, I've never even heard of the other three.

I've not heard good things about Chicago Motor Cars so now you have each opinion. My view is find the car you want wherever it may be and GET A PRE-PURCHASE INSPECTION!

Chicago Motor Cars all the way! You must deal with Rick or Parin. They're men of their word.

I think that Chicago Motor Cars was a sponsor at one time on sixspeedonline.com. Then the next thing I knew, they were banned. I have a funny feeling that there was a reason for that. In Illinois there is a cap on how much a dealer can charge for a doc fee. I went there one time to look at a car, and they wanted to charge a doc fee that was higher than was allowed by law. I asked about the fee, and the reply I was given really didn't inspire much confidence in the dealership. Needless to say I walked out. I also remember the salesman bragging about their association with Luxury Motors. I think that the term "Buyer Beware" is appropriate here.

I have nothing but good things to say about Continental. I have dealt with them on and off for fifteen years and my father knew John "in the old days." The service department at Continental is fabulous. I do some of my own work and they do some of the work and have NEVER had any problems with them. They understand that I like to work on my car and are honest when I ask them, "Is this beyond my abilities?" They are aces and a class act from top to bottom. They have found parts and charged the fair market value without adding the "Ferrari tax." If you have questions please feel free to P.M. me.

Ditto, I knew John "in the old days" too; and also now. Never had any problems or complaints with Continental. On the downside, I do miss Randy. He is one great guy!!!!

I too remember Parin bragging to me about thier association with Luxury Motors. As such, thier cars had a lot of the same issues that Luxury's inventory has. I also recall thier salesman telling me they were going to "round up" the sales tax on my potential purchase rather than use the decimal points. That was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Dont let your experience with one salesman slant your view on Chicago Motor Cars. If you want to be treated fairly, come and talk to me. I have worked for FVMC, Lamborghini Chicago and Westmont Porsche, If Chicago Motor Cars was like "luxury motors" I wouldnt be working here for Parin. Im a car guy first, salesman second. Its all about who you deal with. As far as 6-SpeedOnline, the only reason we are not on that site is that the $8000 per year advertising fee was not worth the the return on investment. All of our fees are with in the scope of Illinois regulations.

No need to start rumors! Since 6speed was sold to another owner, CMC just didn't renew their sponsorship. It is a hefty amount to be a sponsor there.

Parin is a man of his word and has a stellar reputation in the car community and has built Chicago Motor Cars to the elite status of selling rare and exotic automobiles along with many high line marks.

Don't let one bad apple in the bunch spoil it for you and for others.

Check out M Jordan's old SLR 722 that they have there!!!

I stand by my previous statement. Chicago Motor Cars tried to charge a doc fee that was in excess of the amount that was allowed by Illinois Law. This is not a rumor. Also there were several "apples" in the office when this occured. I still say "Buyer Beware".

blabardi says RE CMC " also recall thier salesman telling me they were going to "round up" the sales tax on my potential purchase rather than use the decimal points. That was the straw that broke the camel's back."

Almost unbelievable, it really is a game for them isn't it.
I'd love to be a fly on the wall in the sales managers office at one of these stores to hear all the laughs.

I've bought a couple of Porsches from Parin at Chicago Motorcars and they were found to be exactly as advertised, after I had them PPI'd............so, no complaints here. No doc fees either.........but I was a licensed dealer at the time.

It's like anything else, get a PPI from a pro, know what you are buying beforehand (educate yourself) and don't put up with BS.
