Wow, Dave, that's pretty wise advice and a great blue print to start my letter with; thanks...!/sarcasm Thanks, everyone, for your help; yes, James, i got your PM... A lot of great advice here, folks, thank you. i had no intention of burning any bridges or anything like that, i was just wondering if i should write something very basic or if i should actually include stuff like, "appreciate my experience here" and "leaving to pursue other interests" and yadda yadda yadda... Ryan, i'll tell you if you go vote for me in the burger thread... As far as sitting down with him, that's already done; i did that on Friday; that's where the resignation letter request came from... No tape recorder or friends or open blinds were needed... Who do you guys think i work for, Tony Soprano...? LOL... i had just put together a basic letter, but i think i'll beef it up a bit more; thanks everyone... i appreciate all the advice...
Carbon, one last comment. My guess is that the reason why your boss wants a letter is to cover himself should you later file an unemployment claim. This is one of those lessons you learn the hard way when you are the owner. Good Luck, Dale
