    anyone have this? .. oil temp's not reading right . . . doesn't go over 170 anymore .. skimmed the Mondi WSM and didn't see it . . GT4 manual?

    don't think it's open circuit 'cause it's reading . . . only reason I'm on the fence about the $30 is I have a new speedo, tach, and voltmeter to put in, and if the gauge is bad I'll just replace it with a new one .. . looks like it'll be a $30 experiment . .. thought someone would know this value off the top ot their head :)

    Here are the readings I took off my 328 sender earlier this year. I would imagine it's the same part for your car. Based on my readings, 170 degrees F (77 degrees Celcius) should equal about 325 ohms of sender resistance. Excess resistance anywhere along the way from the sender unit to the back of the oil temp. guage will cause the guage to show a cooler temp. than in reality. You might want to check all the wires/connections along the way (if the sender unit checks good).
