You're probably referring to the "launch assistant" feature, which isn't anti-lag but just a 2-step stutterbox. Anti-lag like on rally cars would do to much damage to a street car, they run super super rich to keep the turbo spooling at idle.

Well "mild" (timing based) anti-lag, versus the air-injection rally sort. I don't think they're only doing a two-step limiter for this, if they're building that kind of boost. There's got to be some timing trickery happening, which is ALS in my book. ;)

Well it doesn't say what rpm the rev limiter cuts in at with the launch assist, but if they're making over 500 lb. ft. of torque by 2200 rpms, 13psi off a 2-step (that probably cuts in around 3k) sounds about right. Remember that it has variable turbine geometry, so those turbos must spool instantly. Its a completely different beast than what you and me are used to in our laggy turbo cars.

Although you are right in what you posted, they are using some sort of anti lag though, and this has also raised many questions on the Porsche forums in regards to longevity of the turbos and other components. If I find out more info I will post it up!

I've always been a big fan of the GT2 996...but I don't know now if it will continue as my favorite. Because this new GT2 looks perfect in black! I definitely respect the car and whoever owns any Porsche GT2.

I'm sorry, I didn't notice the "Download" section at the bottom. Thank you for the link, a respectable Porsche for sure.

I love mine, most insane/thrilling ride, especially when modified, and ESPECIALLY by RUF ;)

Thing is, I love the looks and differences of my GT2 compared to the 996TT, this GT2 seems a little bland in the front fascia, too rounded. BUT I would buy it based off everything else, the technology and parts they put into this car is out of this world!

    Don't respect Martin, he doesn't deserve it...heeheee :D

If you ever sell that RUF R-GT2 I will be so mad Martin!! That car is money bro and you gotta give me a ride in it, the only thing I could see you trading up for would be a CTR3 ;)
