Any suggestions on restaurants/lounges on Jersey Shore that you would feel comfortable taking your high-end whips to? Ideally this place would have a nice ocean view, good service and food, and valet parking. Planning a date for this weekend. Thanks in advance!!

Where exactly at the jersey shore?
there are a few places in west long branch that are right on the ocean and very nice.
Avenue, Roonies at the Pier Village
I always see exotics parked in front

Long Branch area would be fine. Have heard mixed reviews about Avenue. Don't know much about Rooney's.

If you are looking for great food and a view, go to Matisse in Belmar. I'll be there Saturday night. Make a reservation.

It is a BYOB place, which I like.

Avenue in long branch would be my choice. Great outdoor enviorment (bottle/table required)

Red Bank also has alot of great restaurants, but without the ocean view--but some good navasink river views...

Avenue is a bit stuffy and overpriced IMHO. I love Matisse, the owners are great people and it's a beautiful location. I think the menu has gotten a little stale, but it's always ranked high in my book. Note, there is no parking there - it's on the street, so that may not be what you are looking for (you said valet parking is a requirement).

I'd consider Doris & Ed's, but parking a high end ride there may not be the best choice (there's a small parking lot, but it fills quick, so you'd have to park in the street if you can't get a spot).

Also, try the Salt Creek Grille or Fromagerie - both in Rumson / Fair Haven. Both have valet parking. The Salt Creek Grille is a little more casual, but has some GREAT views and an AWESOME pork chop on the menu. Fromagerie is more upscale and romantic, but forget any ocean views - nothing like that there.

I live at the Shore - as I think of things, I'll post if you haven't decided.

Matisse changed their menu about a month ago. It now includes pastas, etc. Love the food and Tony and Mary. We've been going there since it opened accross the street.

As have my wife and I! We've always been foodies, and since my children were born, Matisse was about the only upscale, kid friendly restaurant around! Tony and Mary were always so nice to us, and we had been regulars until fairly recently (just to mix it up).

We did the Belmar restaurant crawl not long ago and tried their new fried chicken - good stuff!!

Reminds me of another "date" place, assuming it's not too stuffy - Nicholas. Damn fine place, but not kid friendly, so I haven't been in over 8 years!

Thanks everyone for their recommendations! I ended up going to Nicholas in Red Bank. Great food and service, with valet parking. No ocean views however. Also went to Rooney's in Long Branch this past weekend. Good food but excellent views -- literally right on the beach. Will look into the suggestions posted here for future excursions...

Yep - Nicholas is a "can't miss" - especially if you don't have children (which I am guessing you don't).

How was the food? What did you have? Haven't been to Nicholas in some while, curious if the menu has changed (I am sure it has, but still curious)...
