With Valentines coming up, and my girlfriends Bday the 15th, trying to find something nice for Saturday night. Orlando area, or over towards the east coast is fine. Have done Charlie's and Ruth's Chris, Christini's is my back up, she loves them. But anyone have any other ideas? She's Italian, loves just about any food. I'm the same. But like to try new things as well as the favorites.
Anything in the under $300 range is fine, prefer quiet and romantic. Doesn't have to be fancy, but don't mind dressing up. So what's some other ideas you guys like? Thanks

For all out romantic, you can't beat Victoria and Albert's. You get a personalized menu with your name on top, all the service you can expect, and the Disney touch since it's at the Grand Floridian. But I can guarantee they are sold out for Valentine's.

French food: I'd check out Le Coq au Vin. They are also probably booked up.

I'd say CF's best kept secret is The Chef's Table in Winter Garden. Very cozy atmosphere and phenomenal food. It's not a fancy place, but memorable nonetheless.

I'll look into those. I know I'm a little late, but our schedule is hard to plan in advance.

Victoria & Albert's is a good suggestion, but as Anzir says probably booked. Luma's has much better drinks than food, so I wouldn't recommend it for what you're seeking. Instead, I like either K Restaurant in College Park or Citrus which is downtown. Probably need a reservation but both places are always accommodating.

I thought the food at Luma was good, but I'd had a few drinks first so maybe you have a point ;)

    Troy,
This rsturant is on 17-92 in Olrando. Not fancy but it is on the lake. but the best prime rib I have ever had. They also make a great ceasar salad. It is all made in house. It is about $50 each for the best stuff. Great service from happy people.

As soon as I get the Mosler back Joy and I will have you and your girl freind over. Joy is a great cook so you will know why I am fat.

Since you said your girlfriend is a car lover I want to have all the cars in the garage. The 1954 Vette just got back.

Well it won't be our best kept secret for long if you keep telling everyone!!

Seriously, it is an experience. The restaurant only seats about a dozen or so people, with personal attention from the Chef himself. Hence the name I guessz

Valentines is likely a write off by now, but on any other day if you can't get a reservation there is The Tasting Room out front. Small plate portions of the same menu items as the room in back.

Enzo's on the Lake in Longwood. It's a PITA to get there from Clermont, but it scores really high on the Romantic scale. But act fast...it's a small restaurant.

Best food in town: "The Ravenous Pig" in Winter Park. Don't let the name throw you off, that place is incredible. "Prato" on Park Ave. in Winter Park is great and owned by the same folks as "Luma" which is also on Park Ave. For overall experience, the chef's table at Luma is fantastic. Great way to spend an evening, and there's always a good line of cars in the valet there. "Cask & Larder" in Winter Park is great, very higher-end southern, like a nice Charleston restaurant.
"Cafe de France" on Park Ave. has been around for about 30 years and is usually a nice, small, romantic spot with a simple French menu, and owned by a couple from Paris.
I'm starting to realize I don't have the 360 I want because I'm spending too much on dinners out...

Of course, you're all talking "fine dining", of which I know little in the Orlando area. But for a change sometime, you ought to try "Guavate" on Alafaya Trail just south of the East-West tollway. It's the best Puerto Rican cuisine in Florida, and that's coming from a former Puerto Rico resident (9 years). Particularly good is the Pernil (roast pork).

I also recommend the 1905 Salad at the "Columbia" restaurant in Celebration. That might be a good place to go during the exotic car festival in April.

I'm amazed none of you have mentioned Normans at thr Ritz Carlton. I dine there quite often on special occasions and love the food and service.

Victoria & Alberts is incredible though, proposed to my now wife there.

Good luck in your search :)

Yes to both of Dave430's suggestions as well. My wife and I enjoy Normans and the bar there is small and romantic.

Lots of great suggestions. I ended up with a reservation at Deep Blu. But we are taking her parents to the Ravenous Pig in march. The Columbia is awesome, my dad was actually the superintendent when it was built. And I plan on trying the others this spring. Never paid attention to The Chef's Table, and it's walking distance from my grandparents. But will try it as well.
Thanks for the suggestions, will let you know how it goes.
