Restaurants in Dallas: need your comments

III Forks has a more diverse menu. Rafain & Texas de Brazil get my vote, however, it may not suit very well for the vegetarians as they are churrascarias.

 

The Brazilian steakhouses like Rafain and TX de Brazil have incredible salad bars for those who avoid meat. If you decide to go this route, I'd suggest Fogo de Chao.

 

I'd boot all of those, and go to Del Friscos. It's a Dallas institution, and is near all of the other restaurants you've suggested. No worries about the vegetarians either, they have a huge veggie plate.

I'm not a fan of III Forks, they make me eat mashed potatoes with my steak. Nobody eats mashed potatoes with steak. Communists.

Ferrari Village isn't that good, assuming you're talking about the place on Midway. Chamberlains is good, but Del's is better. Chamberlains is actually in the old Del Friscos space.

III Forks is a little pretentious IMO, not to mention costly.

 

I have been fortunate enough to eat at some of Dallas' best and these two never disappoint. The food and service are always consistent. These are both higher end restaurants, so avoid if you are trying to maintain a budget

There used to be some very good Italiano joints in DFW, but I'm way outa touch w/DFW these days. However, if you really do want Italian, ask around...DFW has enough $$$ to support just about everything(not counting good taste! )

Based on your icon, I would strongly suggest Nick & Sam's. Its an upscale Chicago Chop House style restaurant. With a geat bar (perfect martinis) and live piano. They have a great selection of seafood and some veggie stuff too.

3 Forks is so "over the top" it's ridiculous. Bob's Steak and Chop House is much more understated, and the food is at least as good. For steak, I would either go there or Del Frisco's. I've never been to Chamberlain's (at least not in Dallas), or any of the others on your list.

If you want to go more casual/fun, Chuey's Tex Mex can't be beat!

(I lived in Dallas from '90 to '06. Lots of other places I've been to, but I can't remember the names...)
