4968 was color-changed from red to silver during Gary Bobileff's epic total restoration completed this August. It proceeded to sell a month ago via Paul Russell for $675,000 US (a world record price for a Miura or Lamborghini of any kind thus far).
If it were in its original color, would it have brought more? The owner had asked $725,000, and I understand that color wasnt an issue with this particular buyer, but it is with some....I know I always get asked: "Is that the original color?" and I think to myself, if they didnt care, they wouldnt even ask..... I suppose it will always remain a matter of personal opinion, and a car in its original color is worth slightly more to someone who happens to care.
