    Hi fellow BB forum members,

I'm about to embark on the restoration of a RHD 1982 512 BBi. It is my 4th Ferrari restoration so I know what I'm getting myself into BUT this will be the most challenging yet and I'm missing a few key parts.

My car was a Rosso over Nero / Grey fabric delivered new to serial Ferrari enthusiast in the UK. I have excellent history on the car including original documents like the warranty card period photos and some really interesting details from Maranello Concessionaires.

The car is now located in Australia but it has not be registered or driven in 10+ years. The engine has been brought back to life to determine that nothing major is a miss but will still need a lot of work before it is drivable, "reliable" and fluid tight.

In period the car received some modifications from Emblem Sports cars which I'm looking to undo and return the car to stock.

I've started this thread so those of you who are interested in providing me with technical (or perhaps motivational) advice or those who are just interested in following projects.

I'm building the car for my own enjoyment and as well as the restoration process I also love getting out and driving my cars so it will be a much loved car in the workshop and on the road. I also like to get my cars out to meetups as I know how many others enjoy viewing our classics.

I'll be ready to tear into things early next year but at this stage I'm on the hunt for some important original parts. So if anyone can help me out with the following that would really be appreciated.

I have also posted wanted ads in the classified sections which have a little more detail and I have linked to those below.
    - Original Nardi black steering wheel (Part no. 116603 or 116084) Classified ad
    - Original wheels x4 (Part no. 119392 & 119393) Classified ad
    - Original seats x2 (Part no. 60844200 & 60844300) Classified ad
    - Original brake calipers x4 (Part no. 108071, 108072, 108077 & 108078) Classified ad
    - Original space saver spare wheel

I will be needing many more parts as the build progresses but I consider sourcing good versions of the above the hardest part to returning the cars originality so this is where I would like to start.

Thanks in advance and I will update this thread as things progress (assuming I get a few interested followers).

How is your restoration going on ? For the record, can you give your ex-UK chassis number ?

    Hi Zaza

    Thanks for asking.

I'm still in the collecting parts phase. I want to have all the hard to get original parts ready to go before I start the restoration otherwise you trap yourself in needing to get the parts quickly which is always expensive.

I have everything major apart from a front and rear bumper and 4 brake callipers how so getting close!

    Cheers
    Thomas

Go reach out to Ratarossa. He's been doing a bare metal, down-to-the-frame, restoration of his RHD BBi, over in the UK. All documented on his YouTube channel. He might be able to help you with sourcing the remaining bits and pieces. Good luck with yours!
