Hello Dan. I hope you are well. The restoration is VERY close to "completion" (in quotes because it will be a while before it's 100% finished; the last 5% details will take some time to finalize as I make sure they are as correct as I can make them). The car looks fabulous. I get chills when I look at it being sooooo close!
Wonderful news! Can't wait to see pictures. I hope it gets lots of invites. Being among the first of the P400s, it should!
As a point of interest: the same door stops were used on early ISO Grifo cars. They are Bertone-designed and manufactured parts and they do break after 40-50 years of use. The giveaway of early door straps: a noticeable clanking noise when they reach the intermediate and end positions.
Is Steve Kouracos still in Rancho Santa Margarita ? What a shame he's been banned on Fchat. His explanations and advice were always welcome. I was able to visit him in his shop a few years ago, and I saw the Miura. A very nice guy. https://stevekouracos.com/
Steve was in fact banned from FChat. Someone had an axe to grind (a BS based one at that) and got him banned. Last he and I spoke he had retired from painting cars and was devoting himself to creating other kinds of art. Mine was the second to last car he fully painted.
