    My friend is restoring a 246 GTS for Cavallino
    When you open the gas door around the filler area is this color of the metal that supports the filler neck

    1) BODY COLOR
    2) BLACK (matte or semigloss)

    Daytonas tend to be matte black

    I think matte black but a 246 expert should chime in soon....

    Afraid to call myself an expert but I would bet the farm matte(satin) black is correct.

    the two cars i have that seem to be most original have matt black. the other cars i have also have matt black

    matt black is correct
    my GTS#06830 had original paint when I bought it
