For those of you that are looking at doing engine and or component restoration, for what it's worth, I can give a 10 point recommendation to Wayne Jacobson at Specialized Blasting Services here in Qld. He has done work for me on the 308 engine and a 512 and lots of other Ferrari "bits" in the past and does the best work. He is truly passionate and thorough about his work and has a very high standard of finish. I usually courier the parts over to him and a few days later, they return wrapped in plastic all ready to go.
Here is his web site, http://www.wetblasting.net/, and if you look in the gallery you will see the Ferrari album.
I hope this is of some help, he is still on holidays I think, but if you leave him an email or message he will get back to you. Check out the coke can on his site, also one Boxer Piston ready for install, and Diff/Gearbox housing ready for rebuild to show the end results.
    Cheers MG

It's a CRC product, I'll get the product code and get back to you.

The paint is a CRC product, product code 2044. They use it on electical windings etc.
It's a red urethane seal coat, I bought it from Repco.

Thanks MG, I only found one other that does the same thing, called Glyptol, it's only available in the US for $100 per litre plus dangerous goods shipping.

Glyptol???? Sounds like something Morretts would drink.
You may have to give the block a couple of coats to seal it all, mask around the seal and gasket areas and you should be fine. The blasting that Wayne does actually seals the surface of the alloy, so I blasted everything inside and out and then sprayed inside with the CRC. The CRC is not cheap but it's no where near $100/ltr. Post some pics when you get it finished.
    Cheers MG
