    Hi RickSinger

Great work !!! Did you just order the carpet set from Escondido and installed by yourself? Or you let them do the installation too?

They are doing the complete interior for me.
basically as you can see in the photos, Oscar from Escondido took the car apart and reupholstered everything.
Car should be done in a week or two

My guy will not have a template to cut your carpet but if you google, you can find a couple of suppliers in the UK that sell the carpet kits and I have heard they fit pretty good.
I have seen the websites but I cannot remember the name

    You will never believe it.
I used hand sanitizer liquid spray with 70% alcohol, I had it handy and tested it.
I manufacture it, that is one of my businesses.

If you’d like, send me a PM with your address and I’ll send you some for FREE.

    Good afternoon to all:
I have a question for the group.
What is the material that goes glued under the floor mats?
We are about to cut the carpet, "the removable mats that go on the floor of the car but under the (usual logo mats)"

I mean the material attached to the backside of the carpets shown on the photos bellow

    Any comments very well appreciated.

Hey, sorry I missed this message when it came in—I would’ve responded right away. Yes, it’s been a long time. I’m not entirely sure why progress on this car has been so slow—it’s spent years bouncing between shops.

That said, over this long stretch, I’ve managed to restore a few other cars: an ’84 400i, a ’77 308 GTB, a ’99 355 Spider, 88 Lotus Espirit, 88 Ford Bronco, and a few others. The good news is the Mondial is finally back in my garage and about 90% complete.

Now that it’s in my hands, I’m confident I can wrap it up within the next 4 to 6 weeks.

Today I started cleaning up the typical Frankenstein mess left behind by stereo and alarm installers from the ’80s, plenty of add-ons, poor splices, and unnecessary patches. That brings me to a request:

Does anyone have—or know where I can find—a color electrical diagram for this car?

I want to trace all the wiring, harnesses, and connections so I can clean things up properly and ensure everything is correctly routed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

ric - your best course of action would be to purchase the colored, re-drawn wiring diagrams from afterburner here on FC - they are a life saver (and huge time saver)
