Has anyone tried to clean up and restore sticky vents on 355 without removing them?

If so what process and product did you use ?

Yes on the door opener and switches on door…….all other had to be removed and is simpler. Also be careful you do not want to damage the leather if u keep them on.

Remove the vents, use over cleaner and a toothbrush to remove the sticky stuff, wash thoroughly with soap and water, lightly sand the vent surfaces with 400 grit sandpaper, then spray with SEM Landau Black.

I managed to remove the Center vent easily . The sides won’t budge ! Beside the one tan at the top, are there any other tabs for latches for side vents ?

Reach down from below the dash, stick you hand up into the upper reaches of the dash, and push out the side vents. It's that easy.

Many thanks ! Do I need to pull the upper tab still ?

I tried to reach from under the dash but there is no space to actually touch the vent on my 96 355 spider

Managed to pry it off using a flat head screw driver around the edges of the vent

The only way to do them correctly is to remove them, all that sticky mess gets down into the vent slats, they need removed and taken apart fully. We can help if anyone wants to send them out to us. We also have the dial indicator and arrow decals if anyone decides to try them themselves and need to replace the arrows. Use oven cleaner spray . Put on generous amount and let it sit for a min, then scrape it off and repeat until all surfaces are smooth . Then rinse with water and dish wash liquid and let it to dry
