Howdy. Based on my experiences with the terrific Australian Forces medics while in Iraq, I am looking at perhaps moving to Melbourne/Tasmania as I retire from being a military physician for 21 years.
Appreciate any advice either here or via pm.

    And besides, I gotta see Ash's X1/9.

    thanks

well if you retire to Tassie and still want to practice you'll have to remember that they have two heads and are all related to each other :)

Melbourne does have some dodgy people as well but they "look" normal and pay with rubber cheques.

Further north you have the Sydney people who are suspicious of everyone and it will take 50 years to get to know .... and then you won't want to :D

In the deep north you've got the redneck Qlders which we've put a dingo fence around and set their clocks back to 1954 ... PERMANENTLY!!

South Australia ........ hmmm they all live in pickling barrels from what we read , and their water is undrinkable

Western Australia is dead, nothing happens there and no-one was born there

Northern Territory has got like 15 people, no wait Kerrari from this board went there a while ago so 16 people and no speed limits, sounds good until you realise the temperature is tied to the speed limit and 3 showers a day is not enough to feel human

that leaves ACT (Canberra) .... and everyone does !!!!

    welcome :D

Geez, who needs to read copious volumes of Geoffrey Blainey when you can read such a concise, well informed and factual rendition by John Moretti-Emeritus Professor disguised as an IT dude:)

Russ, I moved to Tassie from Sydney about 20 years ago and love the place.
Like all places, it has its ups and its downs...depends what rings your bells.
Feel free to pm me with any particular things you wish to know. Btw, if you're into chasing your sister, this is the place to do it:)

Mark, we're trying to keep that a secret, don't want heaps of people coming here and crowding out such pleasures as Cethana,Riana or Mt Arrowsmith .... just to name a few. Oops, I might have let the cat out of the bag:)

Sounding even better! Happy to organise depending on timing. There is also the Ferrari Club of Oz gig down here in September.

Btw, what does SFR stand for? Sensational **cken Rally? Southern Ferrari Rally? .....I give up.

Do you have any way to back up that water claim? Any links to sites that have done a study? I'm trying to convince myself that bottled water is worth the expense...

    Thanks
