I am about to purchase a FF that has all the options I want except the front camera. I feel like with the long front end it would be nice to have for parking in front of a raised curb so you don't scrape the front. Can this be retrofitted ? Is it needed ?

I cant speak from personal experience, but based on the fact the camera sits in the front grille just above the cavalino I am almost certain it can be done. It would probably involve:

    1. Fitting camera to front grille.
    2. Running cable (if not already in loom) from camera and connecting behind dashboard.
    3. Possible software upgrade to make the screen show front and rear views as required.

I'm sure any Ferrari dealership could arrange supply and fitment but unlikely to be cheap!

Seems like a lot of trouble for something you can just order and probably end up paying the same amount.

Also keep in mind that actors option has a button on the dash that allows you to switch from rear to front.

What about the "Pearl RearVision" by these 3 guys who were formerly Apple employees? It has cameras as part of the license plate frame. Signal gets transmitted via wi-fi to your phone. Of course, you will get stuck with having to have license frame mounted on the front.

A good picture but with some feature drawbacks. Don't see the necessity to attach to OBD port other than power. Generally don't like devices connected there. Maybe USB or other +12v port a better option.
