I had the fortunate opportunity to ride in Tom's 911 GT3 RS today. I have to say, the car is absolutely amazing! It's the first Porsche I've ever been in that has a Ferrari-type feel to it in terms of visceral exhilaration. What was equally as impressive was the way he was rev matching all of his up and down shifts (blipping the throttle while clutch is depressed prior to disengaging the clutch). It made the car sound absolutely amazing and the shifts seemed seamless. It made me wonder how many of you do the same. I'll have to admit, I practiced on the Diablo for the rest of the afternoon and it seems to make the whole driving experience that much more fun. I also hear it's easier on the clutch. Any thoughts???

That's how I drive. It's most definitely easier on the clutch as it doesn't have to slip to bring the engine speed up to match the next lower gear. You're right about the GT3 RS... it really has a sharper, more direct feel to it. Sounds great too! (I mean, it's no Ferrari sound, but it's not bad for a Porsche.)

I'm sorry, I guess I should have been more specific--the question was intended for those of you that actually know how to drive.

    Erik,
Don't feel bad, there's a lot of that misspelling going around (please see "Bought a Truck" thread). It's kind of tough to get the spelling of your name right when your user name is ERIKandersondesigns.com

Pretty sad when even the original poster is hijacking the thread!!! Hope ya'll have a good breakfast in the am.

    BTW:
    Erikkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk, bite my a$$.

V, I was going to start a post wishing you well in TX, saying how we are going to miss you, etc...., but not now. We will just be able to tell all kinds of stories that you won't be around to refute!!!! :)

Jerry, just wait until you see how well I can rev match the Black Series.
