Help needed.......I have problems with getting my 05. F430 F1 into reverse. The car has only 28000km on the meter and has been regularly serviced.
Problem started a few days ago with one or two faults each time I use the car.
Now it is almost impossible to hit reverse. I can hear the solenoids try to engage R a few times every time i push the button. Sometimes it helps driving forward a few meters and try R again. Other times it is impossible. After trying R several times rapidly F1 warning light comes on for a short period, maybe due to low oil pressure? Sometimes N starts flashing until I put the car into 1 gear. I have no signs of clutch slipping or overheating. Problem occurs even after normal road use so I doubt it has something to do with high temperature? Oil level is normal and there are no signs of leaks.
Anyone experienced something similar or have some good ideas ?

Looking forward to se some comments...

    Regards
    H

i had problems going onto reverse on my 360. Turned out to be the clutch position sensor. Can't say its your problem but its one possibility. Had to be diagnosed with an SD2

Try going into 1st gear and then reverse.

There is a long list of possible causes. You really need to get it hooked up to an SD with someone who knows the system very well. Once it is sorted properly, it should be very reliable.

Thanks everyone for feedback, I’ll try to get it diagnosed. Clutch position sensor sounds reasonable, it seems also to be worse when hot...Strange thing are when I try with engine stopped and ign.on ,it only goes into 1.gear. According to user manual it is supposed to also go into R. By the way, anyone knows of a SD2 or SD3 for a reasonable price, I do have diagnostics that cowers most of European cars, but can’t access Ferrari.....

Don't want to worry you but I had similar problems with my 08 F1 and the issue got gradually worse - it can be very embarrassing and really initially spoiled the enjoyment of the car for me. If you really get stuck turn off the car wait five minutes, switch on after cooling and try again usually worked for me.

After months of going backwards and forwards to the AD Ferrari finally replaced the actuator and associated plumbing etc and the clutch - not sure what the issue was but the cars been spot on since.

Good luck I hope yours turns out to be a cheap and easy fix.
