I am lucky enough to be away in daytona Beach for vacation but unlucky to have been home when my 88 Mondial was delivered today.
My good friend took the delivery with a grin from ear to ear with the understanding that he could drive it(great guy and takes perfect care of everything he has) but anyways he says car overall is real nice few chips from stones in the front, cracks in driver seat no biggy there common and i knew about them.
Car runs shifts stop and handles great and everything works and the car is very clean the only problem is the car is hard at times going into reverse but not always he stated that about half the time its hard to get into reverse any help would be greatly appreciated

Try selecting a forward gear initially and then (quickly, but precisely) reverse -- see if that helps.

Not an unusual problem. As I have been told, reverse can sometimes be difficult because of the still spinning synchros. As Steve advised, the simple solution is to select first and then go back to reverse. It should then go right in. If it doesn't try first or second again and then go back to reverse. The key is not to force it into reverse. Also, remember to push the gear lever down when selecting reverse--this not only makes it obviously easier to engage reverse, but it preserves the lock out mechanism. Welcome to the world of Ferrari. Good luck with the car, you'll love it.

    Pictures please!

I may be totally wrong but don't you have to push the gearstick down before engaging reverse?
