    I have talked with a few owners of major cars that run on
    spare engines. This obviously requires a donor . Maybe a dumb question , buy can a “normal” 250 block be built to the exact same spec as original ? Any grief for the donor car ? Or does the golden rule apply ( the one with the gold makes the rules :)

    Why use a donor when you can have a completely new engine built? Of course with a little more horsepower for good measure.

    GTO Engineering will happily sell you a new 250 engine! I think that when most of the big guys got their donor engines, they were cheap; from an unloved model at the time. Prices are rising however...
