    Hi,
I am not a Ferrari owner, but I've washed, detailed, photographed, driven and observed my fair share of these beautiful, yet charming vehicles. One thing that I noted was the method of syncing carburators using the pinch bolts on the turnbuckle arms, as opposed to the linkage rods (since they are right-hand thread on both ends).

I made some replica ends and rods with reverse thread on one end and am wondering if there are some people that would like to try them out. Ultimately I'd like to sell them, but I am looking for a few testimonials and first hand experience.

They can be seen at http://www.wearblackglove.com/Linkage.html

Congrats, what you have made is quite genius and a perfect replacement for Ferrari's mistake. Anyone can set perfect suction at idle among the three carbs, but to get the suction to remain perfectly even as the throttles open, that is the challenge. I have spent many hours toiling over a hot idling engine trying to achieve it, but to no avail, so have come up with a system that does what yours does, but not so elegantly as yours. I would post the pictures, but am a little embarrassed.

Hi - this looks like a great idea!

I will happily try them out and document the process on the rebuild thread of my 275GTB:

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=280041&page=43

as you can see it is very comprehensive and detailed restoration with a good number of hits and followers. We are about to start the documentation of the engine rebuild, which will include a detailed section on the carb's. We will be using the 6 carb set up.

Given that www.joemacari.com always has a number of vintage Ferrari under various stages of repair or restoration I am sure Joe will be interested in using the product - good commercial opportunity for you.

Please let me know. regards Mark

Thanks Bill, but I do want to say that perfectly unison suction throughout the range makes a huge difference in smoothness of acceleration. Your invention, in the right hands, can bring about marked improvement to an otherwise well set up engine.

How I came to create my system is I had this very slight vibration that would come on at about 1200 RPM and would last a brief while. I was convince that it was a dynamic balance issue. But all it was was uneven suction above idle and the way I found it was by that crazy setup you see in my last picture—with six synch meters. Then, once I found the problem, I realized correcting it was nearly impossible. So, as they say, necessity is the mother of invention, I came up with this “brassy” adjustment system. Now my car’s take-off is so smooth, it almost feels like I have two V12’s under the hood ; )

An environmentally friendly upgrade to the mercury-filled glass sync tools of yesteryear. Nicely done, John.

It's been a few months since we started shipping, and I'd like to thank the folks that bought the Black Glove Reverse Threaded Turnbuckles. I'll see about getting some feedback on this space soon, but I am hoping that they have made the carb syncing game more precise and sped the tuning process.

Hi, we never did receive the set down the garage?
The engine builders are very keen to try them, given last year they rebuilt over 20 Colombo V12 engines, it may be a great place to have the service department market your product to the clients and owners of vintage Ferraris.

    Let me know

    regards

I used this linkage on my newly rebuilt Lusso motor. They made set up quick and simple.
It is worth it for the time savings.

Nice work Busted Belt Bill. Your system is awesome, actually thought out properly. The "Italian" way to make the pinch bolts loose enough to make slip on the shaft but tight enough to hold as you adjust makes me go insane. What is more insane is that I keep tuning these engines this way, standing over hot engines and breathing exhaust. Next time I have an application for your parts I'll call you!

Thanks. The kit comes with only one set of ends. Is it expected that we use our original ones?
