Hi all. I have a question. Is it still bad on the clutch even if you start from a even plane then reverse uphill with the clutch engaged or is it just starting uphill from an incline that’s bad. I’m a new 355 owner and didn’t know this. My driveway slopes downward then of course evens out once in the garage. I have reversed once uphill since I’ve had the car and it seemed to do just fine going back up but I started on a even plane first. I didn’t smell any clutch burn or feel the clutch slipping.

I have a moderately steep driveway but have to back out/up slowly so that I don't run into any cross-traffic at the top. The slower backup speed seems to burn the clutch. I prefer to just back into the garage so I'm always driving forward up my driveway.

    Yes it will.
Clutch does not fully engauge in reverse, only in forword gears.
Hence do not back up unless you have too it will wear clutch out faster. If you need to stab at the gas pedal a bit rather than just keep pressing slowly more and more. This seems to be the prefered method.

Thanks for the replies! I just started backing it up in the garage. It actually works better that way because there is a slight dip right before the garage and the front clears it better.
