About to tackle this job are there any write ups on here? I took a look under the car today and the engine end looks ok but how do I gain access at the pedal end, I can see under the dash but how do I get to the cable as it passes through the bulk head. My panel under the car seems to be riveted on.

Hi, the large panel is riveted on, but there are small access holes where the cable enters and exits the tubes. Also, there is a trap door just under the pedal that is held there with four screws. Of course, I have a LHD version, and do not know if your clutch cable has a different routing...

Don't forget to check the small pulley that the cable runs over where it exits from the body in front of the engine. Many a clutch cable has suffered an early death from a seized or flat-spotted pulley, the pulley should rotate easily and smoothly. A bit of fresh lubrication is always a good idea.
