On a LHD car it is in the engine bay by the brake booster at the firewall. But on a RHD car it isnt under the cover next to the booster - anyone know where it is ?

On a RHD car the battery and coolant tank are in the place the ASR ECU sits in a LHD car. So I am wondering if its on that side of the car - somewhere slightly different - any ideas ?

    Many thanks

The 550 parts manual seems to suggest it is mounted vertically (parallel with the firewall), but no side is specified.

Looks like it has a coverplate, so it may be harder to find.

Ian- That drawing would seem to indicate it is on the port side on the firewall, with the arrow being the direction of the front of the car and arrow center car location showing a port side mounting.

I'm not sure that's an arrow Taz. I think it's just a line drawn to isolate the RHD parts from the LHD diagram.

Usually arrows are a bit more pointy :p

thanks Chaps - having thought about it some more, and looked again in the engine bay, I see there is a plastic cover on the firewall behind the battery. I might whip that battery out tonight and have a look.....

Ah, I see what you mean. The orientation arrows, not the red lines I've highlighted.

I was guessing the artist just chose a random corner in the diagram into which he squeezed the RHD variation drawing.
