The ex-Sultan 'grey' RHD F40 is about to come up for sale (not with me), now repainted in red with a 'standard' F40 interior, rather than the grey leather it had. Additions to a standard F40 include electric windows, door handles (luxury!), plumbed in fire extinguisher and integrated roll cage. It does look fantastic, and the way things are going with F40s may be a good purchase!

Thought the F40 addicts might be interested.

I agree - it should have been left as-is since it was so unique.

I too think that it should have been left the way it was

I think the owner believes it will have a greater market potential if it is as standard to an F40 as possible, rather than as it left the Sultan. However I do agree that it is a shame to change such a unique car - the only qualification being that it left the factory in rosso, so arguably that is it's original colour.

Link to come shortly when the car goes 'public'.

I had a chance many years ago to see this car at Talacrest. It's a shame that the latest owner decided to change the interior & exterior.

Yeah - I've heard, although those could only be rumours, that Ferrari didn't want to do the custom colours for the Sultan, so he bought a bunch second hand and then had them painted. Such a shame that it had to be redone in order to sell it... they could have at least tried to market it grey. Maybe someone would be interested at a reasonable price...

Apparently the cars were built - or rather re-built - by Pininfarina once they had come off the production line.

Bummer it got repainted, but the new interior looks a helluva lot nicer now.
