Found a Honda Integra Type R RHD in California. Not a conversion- the real deal. Said to be registered in Cali. Just curious to get some thoughts on what to look out for in a car like that as far as registration, VIN, etc. Any knowledge, help, or thoughts would be appreciated!

There are many Honda owners who have RHD cars registered in California. Your best bet is to ask them. Try the Integera Type R sub-forum on www.honda-tech.com or www.nwp4life.com

YOU NEED TO CONTACT SOMEONE AT DOT which is part of homeland security. Go inspect the car to get the vin/chassis number off of the cars firewall. Do not go by the tag that is on the dashboard. Once you have the chassis number contact DOT/homeland security and ask them how the vehicle was imported. Find out if it was imported as a vehicle or parts. Even if the car has paper work it can be false, or it can be bonded as a "parts" car. If it was bonded as a parts car it can never be used as an actual vehicle. If the car was not imported properly the car will be impounded by the GOV. and crushed. YOU WILL BE **** out of luck. You will recieve no money... no restitution nothing other than a faint memory and lots of anger. 99.8% of these cars are done illegitimately. I have been in the honda world for a long time... in AZ they have targeted all of the skylines, and civics that have been converted to RHD and crushing them. There is nothing you can do so do YOUR due dilegence!

this is probably a silly question so pardon my ignorance .. but aren't these cars available in LHD? Just wondering why someone would 'covert' to RHD in a LHD country?

To be different, to be "JDM", the whole RHD thing... some of the cars never came in LHD(skyline) and virtually all of them sold in North America were watered down.
