Trying to locate a rheostat - Any leads or assistance appreciated. I have already checked the usual (ricambi, ferrparts, eurospares, tom vail, etc)
Have you tried fixing the old one? Sometimes there are broken wires, othertimes just poor contact between the resistive surface and the metal slider. DeOxit make a gentle product for cleaning and lubricating these kinds of devices https://caig.com/fader-f-series/
Rifledriver advised me to send my rheostat to Jim at ODD Parts in California for refurbishment. It’s in transit to him as we speak. I couldn’t find a replacement either from the many primary Ferrari parts suppliers.
Sure. Here is the website: https://oddparts.net/ You can go there and on the homepage click “Call Us.” That’s the number that I called to reach Jim directly.
is your rheostat only not working or broken? nevertheless, let us know when you get it back from jim at ODD, may be also inform us what they did ?
@turbo-joe The rheostat sometimes works, sometimes doesn’t work. It’s a problem mostly at night when the dash lights go out or fail to illuminate from the start due to the faulty switch. @sherrillt I’m happy to let mine be the proverbial guinea pig on this repair, should you choose to wait. I will report back once it’s finished and installed in January.
