What is it with these WRX guys, getting satisfaction of wanting to race a 28yr old GT4. Of course it's going to be faster. I could have saved them the trouble and told them so, and would have saved them their clutch as well.
don't put us all in the same basket, some WRX drivers are actually sensible and don't drag every exotic they see.....leave it for the track and motorkhanas. I only drag riced-out Civics......
What about devil-spawned Daewoos, with 300kg of brand stickers from all sorts of places that wouldnt even make bits to fit them?
hehe yes plenty of that does go on my mate with a heavily worked R33 skyline (250rwkw) once boasted that he had embarassed a 512TR i then brought his attention to how totally not the point that is us WRX drivers arent all the same..... however I do get a kind of pleasure in blowing the doors off idiots in commos, civics etc who sit at the lights with 110db exhaust and 65kw PARP
It takes 2 to tango, why was the GT4 wanting to race a Winner of Car of the Decade award haha. Another longtime WRX owner here I wont ever race an oldskool Ferrari(or any Ferrari/Lambo for that matter) Id rather sit behind it and enjoy the music Which I have done many a time and it was bliss Tho I did have some fun racing my mates 360 Spider it was the best loss ever Tho one time when I was in my mates 360 Spider this Skyline wanted to race us we destroyed him good Seriously the car doesnt make the person. Alot of dicks driving WRX's these days, back when I 1st bought it everyone used to WAVE at each other!!! Not anymore too many dicks and tryhards out there!!! Anyway the car isnt the problem its the driver inside, as there are alot of dicks driving Commodores or Ferraris or Porsches Blame the driver not the car of the decade
Just minding my own business (like I always do). It happened after I saw off a commodore at a set of traffic lights, and he wanted a piece of the action. He came from around 10 cars (3 lanes) behind me (cutting, dodging, etc), and tried to make a point that his car was faster. Around that time, I had already lost interest, I was in cruise mode
strange thing is Ants that it use to happen to my poor little gt4 all the time but NEVER happens with the QV ????? I don't want to drag but I find it strange that all I get is happy smiles wit hthis car but the gt4 got heaps of wannabes ... I only dragged Porkers Sammy will tell you what happened to the 3.0SC we came across on the way to the GP in the gt4 many an idiot would pull up next to the gt4 and lean out and ask for a drag ... told them I don't smoke one idiot in a VN dunnydoor with a blower hanging out the bonnet asked "you reckon you can beat this ?" my reply "no, do I look like I give a toss ??"
driving my GT2 last year , a bombed out fairlane with 3 guys in it pulled up beside me in surburbia as i was cruising along reving it's engine . i wound down the window and said " your not worth the hassle " which they replied " does 12's " which i replied " does 11's and it's stock " . they got the 5hits big time but i would of loved to blow them away but traffic was too heavy . what 5hits me they had no respect for the widow maker and how quick the thing is ex factory and that it will pull hard up to 300 and sit at that pace all day while the ford would blow something through the bonnet after a short run.
but for the price of a GT2 they could go out and get 40 Fairlanes (old ones) and start with a "new" car for each race.
they couldn't tell the difference between a gt2 and the first 911 that came out .... then again neither can I please put BIG badge on the side that says "I am fast" so that I can put one on my wheezy QV that says "so what ??" btw Rig, when you ddi the QR race did you hook up a lot more good corners like the last turn onto the straight you did with me on the trackday ? I have never hooked up that turn very well yet but you did a beauty that day
That's because the GT4 looks like a Lambo, looks like it's going fast standing still (although I bet it's faster standing still). yummm. whilst a 3x8, well it looks like a 3x8. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
what do you think the secret to that corner is ? I tried several different ways but you got it right that once and I can't for the life of me remember your approach I think staying out wide and then thumping it 2/3 of the way around the turn would be the optimum.
BEST!!!!! 4TW!!! hahahaha. ants2au: Yeah that pisses me off too, when you having alittle mini traffic light battle(usually with friends), then some random who was 10cars down saw it and wants to race.... watever looser hahaha.
I always wonder if owners of top-end supercars keep signs under the seat saying "How do you change this into 2nd?" to potentially embarass punks out there looking for trouble (and humiliation)...
