I live in Richmond Virginia (Just moved) and word on the street is, 'everyone' uses Ferrari of Washington. It's time for an oil change and I'm not sure putting all those miles on it are worth it...anyone know of a Ferrari mechanic closer to home?
Also...they quoted me $175, which didn't surprise me..... but I asked about Synching the carbs while i was there....which they said to allow 8 hours for, and $1,000 ....is that realistic? Car runs fine...no issues....but I have heard to get them synched up once a year...... (I have 1 78' 308 GTS)
    thanks!

It is prolly a little further than FoW, in Gaithersburg, MD but I am planning to have some stuff done by Competizione & Sports Cars. Highly regarded apparently by those in the area. Here is a thread on them:

Might at least check with them on their recommendations for your needs and compare. I'd be interested in hearing...look forward to seeing you in Richmond.

    Cheers.. Chris

If your car runs fine and there are no issues then leave the carb synch alone. I've had my carb 308 for 5 years now and have never had to deal with carb synch - If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Once you get a good F-car sorted out, there's little you have to do to it. Belts and brake pads etc - you need to watch that - but carb synch - please leave it alone if it's ok.

Another thought - If a dealer has to do maintenance on a car that they can not plug into a computer, they will farm it out to an experienced independent - Go to your regional forum and ask the same questions you asked here. Good Luck!
