We've used his books and other info on a trip to Italy and an upcoming trip to the UK. Very helpful. Especially his helpful hints around major attractions in Venice and other places.

    Love the TV show also.

I like his show, his books are pretty good--except his hotel choices are just not adequate for my tastes. He's a real budget traveler, I stayed in a hotel in Florence recommended in his book and it was a rat trap. I've had better luck with Frommer's.

Rick Steves is the MAN, as far as I am concerned. I have all his DVD's, and I take his travel tips as just that- tips. He’s a bit of a budget guy and I see that. I think he is really good at getting the most "bang for your buck". Did you know that Rick Steves is a huge advocate for the legalization of Marijuana? Also, did you know that he and his wife used their life savings to buy a home for the poor (I read that somewhere and I can't remember what the details were)?

Rick is a man that has discovered the meaning of his life, and I truly respect that.
