Just came across this event that will be occurring Sept 21 6pm - 9pm. https://armatureworks.com/event/rides-by-the-river-evening-edition-2/
Good. But right now the rain everyday sucks. I might go this Saturday if the weather is great. My car as all detailed, engine, suspension and all and I do not feel like driving in the rain and doing it all over again. ;-)
They apparently want $40 for me to park my car there. Currently I am living across the street till my house is finished. Not sure I want to bother paying.
I didn’t know I had to have a ticket to park in the lot and go look at cars. I pulled up in my F8 not even close to where other Ferrari's parked…. they turned me away saying I needed a ticket bought when pre-registration WTF…LOL…. Not going back to this event.
Yes, I was told I needed to pay $40 to display my car. I am temporarily renting across the street from the event and thought it silly, so I just walked across the street and checked out the event. Coming from the North East, the mindset in the Tampa area seems to be completely different. Revving engines in neutral to make loud noise and merely bounce off the rev limiter. Seems pointless and stupid to me. Also I'm a driver, I believe in buying a car to enjoy the driving experience. At that car show it was more about banging your chest and saying, "look at what I got!" Seems to be all show and no go. However, I've never seen such a concentration of Lambos before. All pristine and probably not driven much.
You and myself are the same. I am a driver, into learning the car, performance and greatly miss all the track events I did for 15yrs. I do not go to these cars and coffee events much...maybe 1 or 2 a year just to look and something to do for 2 hrs. Yes you are correct these are mostly engine reving, popcorn exhaust pops and flames with poser goof balls.
