Yeah but those cars can come with bumper to bumper warranty used... he mentions that in his previous video...so although the figure is astronomical he is also clickbaiting.

Yep- they are banking on impersonating top gear UK.
Demuro is relatable because he is”average “& so are the quality of his video so ppl like it...
But it feels too much now like he is trying to make money: he does car after car says the same thing over and over so i refuse watching him no more because every view gets those guys close to a dollar! Id rather invest my time to something that will bring me something eventually...
I like seen through glass and david cirone more than those 2 but hey bless them ; this is a new era;)

yup... 4k per year for ‘just’ the warranty.
Note that the warranty does NOT cover maintenance.... add 1.5k for that.

TR belt changes are done every 3-5 years - about 2.5k per year... add 1k for maintenance.

    Arguable numbers....
    TR 3.5k per year
Mc 5.5k per year.... 57% more

Note too, that Mc will not subsidize that warranty forever. When that happens, those Mc cars will be worth little more than a big paperweight.

The big difference for me are , on top of that, insurance:200 at least for mclaren vs 70 for the tr and the brakes...omg dont get me started lol

Honestly, I thought the video was pretty good. I don't think he over embellished the costs.....they were all backed up by the paperwork. The car just is a piece of junk.

This is exactly what I hate about modern exotics ....a touch screen goes out....really...a touch screen in a exotic?? The electronics are always what makes luxury cars disposable....now the same applies to exotics.

After watching this, I will never complain about the egear system on my Murcielago Roadster again lol.

As far a Testarossa goes.....just a solid reliable car. Yes, high maintenance....but reliable.

Yep....and since my 91 Testarossa has 67k miles on it....it's absolutely worthless!

.....but shifting a gated shift attached to 12 cylinders at redline....PRICELESS!

It's curious how often this guy buys broken cars, then appears to be surprised that repair costs are a thing.

I don't watch these videos. So my question is what is their premise; exotic cars are expensive to repair so be careful what you wish for. If so, then staying the obvious over and over is just silly.

As almost every car manufactured today has a dedicated site to the marque, why listen to a non owner (I get it, they buy cars to report on). I would put more faith into "X" sites feedback than a oneoff guy trying to create clicks, drama and has zero ability to do any work themselves. The reality TV mindset is dangerous.

I've owned stupid cars all my life and I will say they all have been reliable, if they are in good running order and cared for properly. And also driven with regularity never hurts.

The whole Youtube formula, is put up an icon car, find some faults, make some 'WhooHoo' sounds and get lots of money shots for the 13 year old subscribers. Rinse and repeat. Most of it is fake. Rented cars, cars on loan from another dealer to get free exposure in the hope of a sale etc. But to the kid in Iowa on a cold December night, all he sees is 'ExoticHunter69' just bought a new Lambo!' And the views rack up to over a million. Hell, a 7 year old makes Millions a year reviewing toys on Youtube.

Doug Demuros vids on his CarMax Range Rover are a joke. Most of his whining is that he doesnt know, or is unwilling to turn a wrench. Sure, If you take your
RR to the dealer for an AirStrut change its gonna cost a few grand. But if you order one from Arnott, with a lifetime warranty, you can do the job in an hour for $350. My DD is a Range Rover and I was all like, 'Ok snowflake, you could have googled that issue and had it fixed for free in ten minutes.' But that doesnt get the 'Likes'.

Yea, I really can’t stand thumbing through all the YouTube car stuff anymore. Crap like....... “here’s why the 488 is extremely underrated”....yea? By who?
Then you have to watch some dork flap his gums for 20 minutes. It’s not so much about cars anymore it’s just dweebs trying to be funny or controversial to get page hits and make money.

Lots of folks don’t like the guy doing the vid - ok, I get it. No argument.

That said however, I do find his 150k number HIGHLY believable.

The Mc cars are a POS..... at least that model.

Why would Doug fix it his self if he has a warranty? Let the dealer do it.

Hoovie, I hope you're reading this.

Please buy a Prius and STFU already. You'll be happier, I think. Or at least you'll have a car in line with your expectations.

What's wrong with rain? There was a chance it would rain when Doug filmed with my car, if it had rained we would have continued as normal. It's a car, it can handle getting wet for a bit.
