I'm interested in picking up a hard top 355 or 360 this spring. I've owned a 348, 355, and a Diablo in the past and have always done a good job finding the absolute biggest lemons!

I'd like to pay about $75k for a 355 or $115k for a 360. Anyone know if I'm shopping in the right ballpark for a respectable vehicle?

Our company has a dealer license so I'll probably pick it up dealer-to-dealer.

PM John Lamour, he's selling his '99 with all kinds of recent service history, sounds like he's done pretty much everything to make the car perfect - perhaps that'll work out for you better than the previous experiences.

I looked long and hard to find the right 355. I paid for 5 PPIs before settling on my car. I was bottom feeding a bit in that I was looking for a 1995 in the $ 60k to low $ 70k range with around 20k miles. I paid low to mid $ 60k for my 1995 that was well sorted and had valve guides done. I drove it hard for about 6 months and put around 4k to 5k miles on it. Never had any problems and sold it for more than I paid for it negating sales tax.

I had two other 355s that I looked at that were in the $ 60k range. One had 30 miles and had a great PPI (needed about $ 3,500 worth of stuff but costs of new tires included in the $ 3,500) and another that had no issues, except color was not what I was looking for. I chose my car due to color combination, lower miles and valve guide issues resolved.

Two of the cars I PPIed were disasters with one needing about $ 18k before the shop even recommended driving it.

Deals in the low $ 70k and upper $ 60k range with around 20k miles can be had if you are patient and diligent about inspections.

So I feel pretty comfortable with finding a 355 @ $75k with the right service.

How about a 360? Nadaguides has low retail on a 1999 starting at $98k though I'm willing to spend more for a car that's in better shape. Again, I'm going to look at dealer-to-dealer prices.

My buddy has a '99 360 w/5k miles on it but it's the wrong color for me (blue) - he's looking to get $115k, so the prices sure do vary a bit.

The guy who had the one for sale didn't seem to have a link to it.
