I usually find fancy song ringtones annoying in public places, but yesterday I heard a guy who had a cricket one installed. I searched the Sprint web site, but no go, and everything else was trying to launch porn. What is a good site where I can find a polyphonic cricket file that would work on my Treo 600 Palm OS Sprint CDMA phone (I am assuing that I would upload it to a card through the synch operation and then point the ringer selector at the file)

    thx in advance

I have that one, too. Cicada. It's about the only one I have that isn't annoying. It came already loaded on my phone, and I don't know how to download it.

Actually, you know you can get ANY ring tone you want for FREE? I'm not sure about your phone but alot of other phones are capable of recording up to 45 seconds of sound. They can be saved and used as ring tones. But in order to get good sounding ring tones you have to get a hands free set which sometimes is included with many cell phones. Alot of people I know record sounds off the phone itself which sounds like crap because it picks up alot of white noise. All you gotta do from there is download a sound you want and record it off your PC speakers via the hands free mic.

In the past I've gone to many websites that offer Polyphonic ring tones to sample and I download them to my PC and afterwards just record them on to my cell phone. It sounds like the real thing, well, on my phone atleast. So just download a cricket sound and record it.

I have a polyphonic Sprint PCS phone also, (Samsung SPH-A620) I've been looking for unique ring tones as well. I’m trying to find the GODZILLA roar. Nothing I have found is free with out a subscription, I did get these sites from an employee at the Sprint PCS store. Give them a try.

Will, I was trying to find the "Outrun" game you showed me to download last night... I have Sprint, but searched all the games I could download and didn't find it. Maybe it's not compatible with my phone. If so, what a bummer. :(

Ahh, the Outrun game. I just down loaded it from my phone with my sprint PCS vision account, the only problem is it will only be on there for one month.

i don't mean to bring up old threads, but i just picked up the newest issue of R&T (April 2005) and, as usual, flipped toward the back to read the latest article on F1. in the first sentance it reads that Luca Colajanni's cell phone has a Ferrari V-10 at max revs as his ringtone. i figured if anyone would know where to find something like this, it'd be someone from here. anyone have any clues? :)

I think that's the same one. I've done a bunch of searches but haven't found anything useful. Let me know if you fare any better.

    Thanks !
...it does appear that the format has to be compatible with the device AND the service provider.
I guess we were able to standardize on the A/C plug shape...well, in the US....
