I hope it is true and that the Pista shows up and demolishes everything. Every other manufacturer will respond in kind and we the consumer win.
Yup, Pista does 0-100 kph in 2.2s lol I see no reason why 0-200 couldn't be similar to the 720S. Also, speedometers are never accurate.
What did I say that was so un-relaxed? The speedo goes from 85 -> 101 -> 104 -> 100 -> 107 What you're seeing in the video is most likely loss of traction. The 0-200 time is probably somewhere in the low 7s as expected.
I wish this was true but there is no way to put that much power to the ground on a RWD car. It doesnt hurt to f=dream though.
That’s a fast car! Can we start a new thread that compares the Pista to the 720 and spend 100 pages arguing about which is better?
And don’t think for a second that Ferrari isn’t benchmarking the 720S in order to beat its performance. They took a different approach with the 488, limited torque to make it feel NA. The 720S was such a step forward in performance however that Ferrari absolutely has to pay attention and beat it.
I think I saw 2.2 seconds to 60, no freaking way in a RWD car. 720 is more like 2.6 or so depending on various factors. ~.5 second is a lot.
I think ferrari are being forced to make this car very, very quick due to the 720s . Whilst 2.2s is almost certainly not correct the 0-200 will be in the ballpark, I suspect it will be mid to low 7's. It appears that in the video below with a passenger this car does around 7.7s 0-200km/h.
Regardless the Pista looks way better than the 720S so if it matches performance it’s way ahead. Too bad it’s limited production and $500k easy secondhand.
Completely agree - the pista is just stunning and given how good the 488 is, I think this is going to very special car indeed.
Wouldn't matter. It'll be more than fast enough for the buyers. Pista is better looking than any competitor in the market segment, wears the right badge, and 99% of owners won't be able to exploit the potential anyway. Most will see and buy the car as money in the bank and enjoy it for the art and sheer driving pleasure. The rest will buy a 720 and try convince themselves and everyone else here they are still in the game. It wont be a matter of 720 RIP but for the owners to RIP.
