one of the greatest negro league players there ever was. it's kind of unfortunate he missed out the hall of fame by one vote a little while back, but he'll get his time. one thing i learned about him today that i never knew before was that he was the first african american coach in mlb history. a pretty tall achievment. baseball has lost an invaluable star.

Not related to baseball, but I was definitely disappointed that Turner Gill (Quarterbacks coach x 20yrs., and former star QB) was not offered the head coach position at Nebraska when F. Solich was fired.

I wouldn't want to be in that fishbowl in Lincoln.

i hope he is, he definitely deserves it. one of the all time greats, spanning both the old negro leagues and the major leagues.
